Crown & Bridges in Inverness, Florida

It can be very concerning when a tooth has been severely damaged or lost. Fortunately, this type of issue can often be corrected with a dental crown or a bridge. These custom-made appliances are designed to effectively restore the appearance and function of an individual’s teeth.

In order to receive a dental crown or a bridge, a patient will usually need to make two visits to our practice. During the first visit, we will take impressions of the teeth. The impressions will then be sent to a dental lab so that a crown or bridge can be built. Once it is ready, the patient will return for their follow-up visit to have the restoration applied. We will install the crown or bridge, make sure it fits properly, check the patient’s bite and provide instructions for caring for the restoration.

All our crowns and bridges are made of porcelain, an outstanding material that provides a natural look and is extremely durable.

Crowns

A dental crown is an excellent solution for restoring the health of a single damaged or lost tooth. Crowns can be used to “cap” and support a severely damaged tooth, protect weak teeth, restore a worn or broken tooth, cover discolored or misshapen teeth, or cover a dental implant to act as a replacement tooth.

Bridges

Dental bridges are commonly used when a patient is missing multiple teeth in a sequence. A bridge consists of one or more prosthetic replacement teeth that are supported by two dental crowns on the ends. The prosthetic teeth in the middle “bridge” the gap that was created by the lost teeth, while the crowns anchor the structure and provide support. The middle bridge and the abutment crowns are both custom-made to provide the best possible function and appearance for the patient.
